I've always loved architecture, and earlier in my life I did dream of being an architect. While that did not happen (I chose to get an engineering degree) I have continued to keep my love and passion for beautiful buildings alive. Architecture is quite technical by its nature, but my real appreciation for it, is the unique lines, curves, reflectivity and sheer innovation that great architecture can deliver. No better examples of architects that I love are Zaha Hadid and Frank Gehry. They really strike a chord with me because of their magnificent, creative and flowing designs. Unfortunately, their best work is found around the globe and not in Canada, my home country. That said, I've had the pleasure of visiting and photographing a couple of their buildings, see below for my images.
Zaha Hadid – “Opus” in Dubai, UAE
Frank Gehry – “EMP(Music) Museum” in Seattle, USA
As my photography journey continues, I am pleased to say that I will be creating new galleries containing fine art images that reflect my love of architecture (and hopefully yours). I want to bring to you strong, powerful and unique images of buildings that I love and admired around the globe.
To this end, I recently spent a day in Toronto’s Financial District taking a course in advanced techniques for visualizing and shooting architecture with the aim of creating these unique, bold and beautiful Fine Art Architecture images. Creating the final image takes creativity and well honed skills at post-production of the image. Below are two images that I have created, and some of me "in action" during the shoot.
A couple of action shots of from the morning.
Thanks for reading. Stay tuned as I begin to add this exciting new style of images to my galleries. I'll keep you posted when I add new images.
