Hello to my fellow photography art lovers! I'm thrilled to share some incredible news with you all. After 12 months of dedicated work, I've just completed a truly exciting and inspiring photography project – one that I'm delighted to share with you in this blog post. The challenge? To capture the essence of this beautiful area in 11 custom images, each representing the highlights of the surroundings across the four glorious seasons: spring, summer, fall, and winter. The results exceeded my expectations.
For years, the Hagia Sophia stood as a beacon of magnificence in Turkey, captivating the hearts of all who beheld it. As a passionate photographer, it held a special place on my list of must-capture wonders. Its architectural splendor, a fusion of Byzantine and Ottoman influences, left me awestruck every time I saw it in photos.
The moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by a majestic dome that seemed to reach the heavens. The sunlight filtered through stained glass windows, creating a kaleidoscope of colors that danced on the marble floors below. Intricate mosaics adorned the walls, telling stories of ancient empires and religious devotion. The sheer size of the Hagia Sophia was awe-inspiring; it made me feel like a tiny speck in the presence of something too big to describe.
I have always been captivated by the allure of Venice, but it was during two unforgettable mornings that I truly fell in love with the city's soul. Armed with excitement and my camera, I created a plan to capture the two very specific sunrises on the Grand Canal.
The first morning arrived, and at first light, I found myself navigating the empty streets of Venice. The city was quiet, and I enjoyed the sound of my footsteps on the ancient cobblestones. The water, so integral to Venice's charm, lapped gently against the gondolas, creating a wonderful sound that seemed to echo through the silent streets.
“One Highlight Image from my recent visit to Florence”
The Italians seem to have everything right, and I just returned from seeing it firsthand. My wife, nephew and I just got back from a quick vacation to Rome, Florence and Venice. It was fantastic. We love Italian food and the food culture in Italy is something to be experienced firsthand. With the amount of pasta, fresh grilled seafood, olive oil, cheese, baked goods, wine and of course coffee – lots of coffee, that we consumed we thought would return weighing many pounds more. We did not have one bad meal, in fact they were all spectacular. But I was there not only to have fine great food and visit the many museums and art galleries, I was there to capture some great images of Italy especially at sunrise and sunset.
Below is the Sunset Over Florence (Firenze) photo that I’m excited to share with you.
If you have ever gone on an African Safari, you have probably heard all about the mystery and challenge of trying to see the “Big Five” – the famous group of very special wild animals. The Big Five consists of: the Lion, Black Rhinoceros, African Buffalo, Leopard and the African Elephant. Individually, they are all elusive animals, and to try and see them during one’s lifetime is considered a great achievement. This post is about me seeing them "in one day", a single 24 hour period. Below is my "Collector's Edition" image of all five animals.

On Nov 27, 2022, I truly enjoyed the fabulous opportunity to present a 2-hour lecture on my visit to Antarctica. The sold-out event was held at the Pumphouse Art Centre in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario. This presentation was actually a part of my Photographic Art Exhibit titled "Travel Inspirations" and it was an excellent finale to a wonderful month of having some of my travel images on display in the Joyner Gallery. This blog covers some highlights including a video that I had created based on my images, to act as an "Introduction to Antarctica" to get the audience's travel juices flowing.
